John Kozej began his journey into IT back in 2001 shortly after deciding he did not want to pursue his law degree from Rutgers University. His first major certification was when he achieved his Windows 2000 MCSE and then became an instructor for MCSE courses at the Cittone Institute in Mt. Laurel, NJ for four years. In 2006 his career took a new direction when he became a Microsoft Systems Admin at BarclayCard US in Wilmington, DE; this is when he was first introduced to VMware Virtual Infrastructure 2.5 and GSX Server.
In 2007 John became a Sr. Infrastructure Consultant where his role focused primarily around post-sales service delivery specializing in data center optimization and virtualization. That same year he earned his VCP on VI3. In 2013 he ventured into the world of pre-sales and became a Solutions Architect specializing in VMware and/or HPE customer related engagements. In November 2016, John earned his VCDX (#245) certification from VMware and in May of 2018 he would ultimately work for VMware as a Sr. Solutions Engineer out of the Eastern PA region.
John resides at home with his wife Allison, his children Brennan and Lainey and their French Bulldog Andre. Away from work John enjoys spending time with his family, working around the house, model trains, follows Pittsburgh sports teams and enjoys going golfing and fishing.
